11/5: Woodblock Printmaking Art with Endi Poskovic

Description

****9/29 EVENT UPDATE / POSTPONEMENT****

This program was originally scheduled to take place on Saturday, 10/1. Due to pandemic realities, our presenter for this program won't be able to join us on that date.

This event is re-scheduled for Saturday, November 5 at 1 pm.

As this program will need to move indoors in November (it will be pretty chilly by then!), we need to cap attendance. Please help us accommodate as many folks as possible to this very popular event!

If you are currently registered for the 10/1 event and cannot make the re-scheduled date on 11/5, kindly release your free ticket via Eventbrite. Thank you for your help with this!

About the Book

Dreams Toward Home: Endi Poskovic Printworks is a dual-language publication (English and Mandarin) published in June 2022 by Zhejiang People's Fine Arts Publishing House. The book offers perspectives on Poskovic’s work authored by Tang Xiaobing with essays by Paul Coldwell, Christina Schmid, and Fang Limin.

All of the works included in this book were scheduled to be exhibited at the Zhejiang Art Museum in Hangzhou in 2020, and the "Dream" series was created by Endi specifically for this planned Exhibition in China. However, due to the sudden and lasting impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the exhibitions that are already ready have to be postponed indefinitely. During the pandemic, Endi created a new chapter of Dreams with astonishing focus – Spring: Hagar and the Angels in the Wilderness, a mythical work that is now included in the album as a finale. Dreams Toward Home is by far the most complete catalog of Endi's prints, systematically showing the artist's development and evolution in style and themes in the past two decades.

The book is enjoying a very limited US release with select retailers – explore the book online and in store at Booksweet!
