The Russian Samovar is a key piece of New York City history as if you have visited, then one can understand why this iconic NY gem receives a 4-5 star rating across the board!

The owner and her family who are all employed at the restaurant/piano bar and whom over see the daily operations, originally hail from Ukraine! Samovar was attempting to raise money and find ways to support their native homeland as it only has recently been publicized as 80% of their employees are Ukrainian!

About Samovar: Once a regular Frank Sinatra hang out, in 1986 ballet master Mikhail Baryshnikov, Nobel poet Joseph Brodsky and Roman Brodsky invested in this prime theater district space and the rest is history!. In fact a few years later, a famous “Sex In The City” romantic scene was filmed here with Baryshnikov and Sarah Jessica Parker. In fact Baryshnikov’s baby grand piano is still used to this day by night performers who perform daily.
