Addiction Counseling Competencies (Public)

Description

The Addiction Counseling Competencies training course is designed to enable participants to explore the unique ethical dimensions and issues that a clinician may encounter in the provision of addiction treatment. The training will focus on the legal and moral issues that may surface while providing addiction treatment services. Training topics will include the definition of Addiction Counseling Ethics, ICAADA Code of Ethics, ethical responsibilities of addiction treatment, guidelines for ethical decision-making, digital, and ethics of professional development for addiction services. Training methods utilized will be lecture, discussion, small group activities, and skill practice.

Six (6) Continuing Education Units will be awarded to Addiction Counseling Ethics participants. This training meets the ethics education requirements for ICAADA's CADAC, ACIT and other clinical credentials. Peer Recovery Coaches should not take this course as CEU's.
