Vincent is a candidate like no other, he has the passion to continually build up his community! Vincent is a proud Ward 5 resident who brings 14 years of experience chairing 3 community boards! Vince has the experience to seamlessly transition into the position, and hit the ground running on day 1!
In his time on the council Vince delivered:
- Delivered bi-annual increasing DC living wage
- Paid sick leave for tipped workers
- The Wage Theft Prevention Law
- $15K in funding for Library Upgrades
- Brought Baseball back to DC
- $2 Million in funds for laptops for Mckinley Tech and Ballou, from developers, not tax payer's pockets
- Authored Legislation to get ASL recognized as a 2nd language in DC
- 10,000 jobs for DC youth by funding Marion Summer Youth Employment Program
- Brought Major Developments to Ward 5:
- Costco
- Brentwood Shops ( Giant, Homedepot, Carolina Kitchen, etc.)
- Union Market
- $635 Million for expenditures with DC SBEs
His Future Initiatives include but are not limited to:
- New Armed Forces Redevelopment Program – 100 Units - 650 Square Ft for youth; to be built by Certified Busines Enterprises (CBEs)
- Affordable Housing for Minimum Wage Workers
- Mobile Showers for the Homeless
- Free Tuition
- Free Laptops & Internet for K-12
- Oppose Projects that displace Ward 5 residents
- Support next-generation with afterschool programs, job training, and pathways to employment.
- Fund & Increase Pedestrian Safety
