Description

In 2014, students from a rural college in Mexico came under attack by police. Six people were killed and 43 young men disappeared without a trace. Families suspected the government was hiding the truth. The Reveal podcast series After Ayotzinapa exposes corruption at the highest levels, and an unsettling connection to America’s war on drugs.

At this free and public event, producers Anayansi
Diaz-Cortes from Reveal and Kate Doyle from the National Security Archive will discuss what their investigation uncovered, with updates on the latest developments in the case, as well as the continuing fight for justice.

Other panelists and guests include:

  • Omar Gómez Trejo, former special prosecutor of the Ayotzinapa case
  • Cristina Bautista Salvador, mother of disappeared student Benjamín Ascencio Bautista
  • Laura Salvador Bautista, sister of disappeared student Benjamín Ascencio Bautista
  • Camilo Pérez-Bustillo, executive director, National Lawyers Guild San Francisco Bay Area Chapter (moderator)

This event is presented in partnership with Global Exchange and Cumbre de la Paz. Appetizers will be provided.

Venue location: Acción Latina - El Tecolote at 2958 24th St., San Francisco, CA 94110
