About your presenter
David Ramsland has been painting for approximately 60 years, he has lived and worked in Eurobodalla since 1986. He has a keen interest in all paint media, with his passion being painting with oils. David is largely self-taught and is influenced by many artists, both traditional and contemporary. He believes that no matter how often you pick up a brush you never stop learning and modifying your craft.
The focus of most of his work lies in capturing the landscape and the environment in which he lives. David divides his time between painting in his studio and plein air work. He also enjoys teaching and learning from others and often likes to create abstract and contemporary pieces. This helps him to maintain the creativity and freshness of the approach he needs for his work.
David’s studio and gallery is located in Malua Bay on the far South Coast of NSW. His hugely popular exhibition ‘Light in the landscape’ was part of the 2021 Bas About Town program at the Mechanics Institute.
