Calling all women who work behind the camera and those who want to hire them! Join us for a night of networking and education at BMC L.A.’s first live event since the shutdown. Get back out and meet those who can help you create movie magic. All film disciplines encouraged to attend.

You've spent the past two years indoors and online watching panels and zooming with friends, family and colleagues. Now it's time to re-immerse yourself into your filmmaking community and LA Film Chapter home, dust off your business cards, meet fellow creatives (all genders welcome) in your area with the atmosphere of a live venue and an informative discussion to come. We look forward to meeting you all and seeing everyone's sparkling, glowing faces! Networking liaisons will help you meet people in the room!

Polly Morgan was born in London and worked internationally as a camera assistant before attending the American Film Institute in 2010. Named an ASC Rising Star in 2012, Polly has since joined the BSC and was named one of Variety's Ten Cinematographers to watch in 2016. In 2018, Polly was invited to join the ASC and in 2020 she has been nominated for an ASC award for Best Cinematography in Television for her work on LEGION.

She is based in Los Angeles, CA.

Michelle Lawler is a Los Angeles-based cinematographer working in film and television. Michelle has shot several television shows including HBO’s Emmy award winning INSECURE (2020) and Lena Waithe’s TWENTIES” (2020). She recently finished shooting eight episodes of THE SHRINK NEXT DOOR for Apple TV based on the popular podcast. The show was directed by Michael Showalter and stars Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd and Kathryn Hahn. Currently, she is beginning photography on a new show for Hulu entitled THE DROPOUT (2022) based on Elizabeth Holmes story, the founder Theranos with Amanda Seyfried starring. In 2020 Michelle was included in Variety’s “10 Cinematographers to Watch.” She has an MFA in Cinematography from The American Film Institute (AFI) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Cinema from San Francisco State University where she was the departmental Honoree of her graduating class.

When Michelle is not shooting, she can be found teaching her dog Judy to be friendlier to squirrels while she fosters a newfound gardening habit.

Elle Schneider is a filmmaker from New York City. Her work has been featured in Vanity Fair, Maxim, The Hollywood Reporter, Wired, Rolling Stone, and MovieMaker. An avid cinephile with a passion for genre films, who cites Roger Corman, David Lean, Fritz Lang, and James Cameron as her biggest influences, Elle is the foremost expert on 1959 sci-fi melodrama TEENAGERS FROM OUTER SPACE and industrial film studio CENTRON CORPORATION. She is an International Cinematographer’s Guild (Local 600) director of photography, writes about cinematography for ICG Magazine, and is a member of the International Collective of Female Cinematographers (ICFC).

Extensive work as cinematographer includes two seasons of History’s acclaimed docu-recre series THE FOOD THAT BUILT AMERICA, narrative features SIX LA LOVE STORIES and 18 1/2, numerous short films and music videos, and documentary THAT GUY DICK MILLER, which premiered at the SXSW Film Festival. 2nd Unit shoots as DP include GAMEMASTER (#1 Doc iTunes), I AM DIVINE (SXSW), HALF THE PICTURE (Sundance), FRAMING JOHN DELOREAN (Tribeca), ROBERT KLEIN STILL CAN’T STOP HIS LEG (SXSW), and WOODLANDS DARK AND DAYS BEWITCHED (SXSW).
