Boonslick Grief Support Group

Description

Grief can be traumatic and also transformative. We know there is no timeline for grief and that there is no cure.

The Boonslick Grief Support group is an in-person peer support group meeting on:

Wednesdays | 6pm CST | SFCC - Boonville, MO | RM 211

We navigate the rocky terrain of loss and grief of a loved one's passing, together. We believe people in grief are not broken and don’t need to be fixed. Yet, our hearts may feel as if they are broken.

Style of Facilitation:

As a trained and certified grief educator, I endeavor to offer an individualized approach to grief. In addition, I hope to reflect and guide you toward creating a life that honors your loved one.

True expertise in grief lies with you, the griever. My goal is to offer a holistic approach to your well-being. I will use a mind/body/spirit approach to grief emphasizing the importance of connection to yourself, God, your friends, family, and community.

We focus on the past, present, and future and understand that in addition to your loss, culture, community, spirituality, and beliefs play a role in your grief.

I am committed to providing a safe space for those in grief. We will cover the following identified 6 Needs of Grieving (David Kessler, grief.com) throughout our time in the group:

~ Have your pain witnessed

~ Express one's feelings

~ Release the burden of guilt

~ Freedom from old wounds

~ Integrate the pain and the love

~ Find meaning in life after loss
