HOW DO I REGISTER?

*ALL* people viewing or participating in the quiz should purchase a ticket. Please enter your team name during the checkout process.

WHAT IS A DEVICE? - A device is anything you use to connect to the internet (laptop, phone, etc.). Your team will need one device to join Zoom. We also suggest that one person on your team has a separate device available to submit your answers to the questions via the Virtual Team Play Card. You can also play with one device by simply opening another window/tab on your browser.

WHY DO I NEED A ZOOM ACCOUNT TO JOIN? - Our Zoom events are 'Registration: Required' events, so you need to have a Zoom account. Please create a FREE Zoom account now if you don't have one already. Click HERE. HINT: When registering for the event in Eventbrite, we recommend that you use only the email address(es) associated with a Zoom account since the email address you use in Eventbrite to register for the event is the one we will use to invite you to the Zoom meeting.

HOW TO PLAY: Day of the event (usually by 5 pm) we will email you the URL for the Zoom meeting, as well as a link to the dashboard where you can find useful items like the Virtual Team Play Card you will use to submit your answers. Only one person from your team will fill out the Play Card.

At 6:45 pm we'll open up the Zoom meeting as participants join in and we set up the breakout rooms. We'll open the breakout rooms before we start so you can have a 5-minute toast with your team before we bring you back to the main Zoom room to get started.

IMPORTANT: The first thing you should do when you arrive in the Zoom meeting is to change your Zoom name to incorporate your team name. Please see the graphic below for instructions on how to change your Zoom name. This allows us to quickly assign you to your breakout room.

When trivia starts, our friendly host will read the questions. Questions will also appear on the slides. We encourage you to take notes on your own because you won't be able to talk to your teammates during this time (unless you set up a group chat in text, WhatsApp, Google Meet, etc.).

When each round of trivia has ended, we send each team to a breakout room for 10 minutes to brainstorm the answers to the trivia questions. We will even provide you with a copy of the questions to review with your team!

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST? About 2 hours, usually wrapping up around 9 pm PDT. After 4 rounds, we'll crown our Trivia Champions! When the quiz has ended, we open up the breakout rooms for about 30 minutes so your team can socialize.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN WE HAVE ON OUR TEAM? Most teams consist of 2-6 people.

CAN I CHEAT BY LOOKING UP THE ANSWERS TO THE QUESTIONS? Well, you could, but we hope you won't. Cheating sucks and it does not guarantee you a prize. So, use your brains to come up with the answers...NOT your technology!

COPYRIGHT INFORMATION: Participants may not replicate our content in any form including recording, transcribing, downloading and streaming, or live sharing. Participants found not abiding by this basic request may be removed from a live event and banned from future events.

IS THERE A DEADLINE TO REGISTER? Ticket sales usually end about 30 minutes before the event starts. However, Zoom has a limit of 50 breakout rooms, so we will close ticket sales when we reach 50 breakout rooms. Please ask all members of your team to REGISTER EARLY.

ARE THERE PRIZES? YES! The team with the 'Perfectly-Average' score (the team whose final score is closest to the overall average final score for all teams) wins free admission to our next quiz (a maximum of 4 team members who attended the previous event).

CAN I CHANGE MY TEAM NAME AFTER I HAVE REGISTERED? Unfortunately not.

NOTE ABOUT TEAM NAMES: We reserve the right to edit/delete team names we deem to be offensive. Politically inspired team names are not permitted. Keep it fun and light!

REFUND POLICY: All sales are final. Once you purchase a ticket, or tickets, no refunds or reschedules are offered. However, if we are unable to run the show, including for technical issues on our end, we'll gladly credit or refund you.
