Your are hereby, so cordially invited to the most electrifying event in the history of the animal kingdom thus far — Capyac’s BUG PROM, taking place at the Belmont in historic Austin, Texas on the 15th of January, 2022.

This IS an insect winter formal, and you are expected to adhere to our very strict dress code: formal and/or insect attire. Preferably both. Suits, gowns, tuxedos, robes, pincers, compound eyes, antennae, wings, claws, stingers. You get the idea.

The band will play an extended set of music new and old. Performers will delight all senses, including entertainment in wavelengths only perceived by insects. The Prom King & Queen shall be present and you shall be expected to treat them as the royalty they are.

So shed that dusty exoskeleton and grow a shiny new one, you will want to look good at the event the national press will be buzzing about for years to come.

Are costumes required?

Though costuming is heavily encouraged, you are allowed to attend without costume. Do you. Come one, come all.

What is your COVID protocol?

Please only attend if you are vaccinated or have a recent negative COVID test. Masks are encouraged. If you are displaying symptoms, please do not attend.

Do I get a physical ticket?

Once you purchase, you will receive an order confirmation email from Eventbrite on behalf of BUG PROM. Your e-ticket(s) will be attached to your order confirmation email. IMPORTANT: If you do not see your order confirmation in your inbox, make sure to check your junk/spam folder.

Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?

Yes. The Belmont is 21+ event. 18+ permitted with additional surcharge. Underage attendees are allowed with parental supervision.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to the event?

There is street parking and paid lots around the venue throughout downtown. Ridesharing or carpooling is encouraged.

Is my registration/ticket transferable?

Yes, you must do this via Eventbrite ticket log in or support.

Can I update my registration information?

Yes, via Eventbrite.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?

Save the trees! Digital tickets on a mobile device work great.

What is the refund policy?

All sales are FINAL. No refunds. Thanks for understanding. NOTE: You can transfer your pass to someone else via your Eventbrite.

The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?

No. You must transfer the ticket via Eventbrite.

I understand photographers and videographers are present and grant full permission to BUG PROM, CAPYAC, The Belmont and it's associates to use photographs, videos, audio recordings of me. I waive the right to inspect versions of my image before publication.

I have read and fully understand the above waiver terms and in consideration of the acceptance of my entry, for myself and anyone legally acting on my behalf, I waive and release The Belmont, BUG PROM and CAPYAC, its employees, volunteers, agents, successors and assigns, from any and all claims, liabilities or causes of action, including without limitation, death, bodily injury, property damage, or any other loss, damage or any inconvenience whatsoever, arising from my participation in this event.
