Wednesdays in the Gardens

Calling all weed warriors - the battle for the plant beds has officially begun! And we need your helping hands, with removing weeds from our gardens, and many other tasks.

This is a unique opportunity for Cylburn volunteers to work in our gardens alongside our head gardener - to help beautify our space, learn a few choice gardening tips, and meet other plant and outdoor enthusiasts.

*** Regarding Weather: If we anticipate having to cancel any of our volunteer days due to inclement weather, we will do our best to notify everyone via email by the end of the day on Monday of the same week. ***

Do I have to RSVP?

YES please! There's plenty of space, but we need to know who is planning to join us.

What if the start time doesn't work with my schedule and I need to arrive later?

This isn't a problem. We ask that you please call Fig when you arrive, so he knows you are on the grounds and can direct you to where we are working.

Do I need to fill out an application prior to volunteering?

Absolutely - and it's fast and easy. If you haven't volunteered with us in the past year, please fill out an application to make sure we have your current contact information. You can download our application form on our website HERE.

Can I invite a friend or two?

Please do! We're always happy to meet fellow urban gardeners, but please make sure everyone registers individually, so we have an accurate head count for the day.

What are the current guidelines for volunteering?

We follow the public safety guidelines as set by Baltimore City's Department of Recreation and Parks. We will keep everyone up-to-date about any changes to these policies, as we receive this information from BCRP. If you haven't already received a copy of our current guidelines, you can send an email to volunteer@cylburn.org to request this information.
