Frequently Asked Questions about Camp Collide

"Drop off/Pick up Times and Locations?"

DROP OFF: August 14th between 1:30-2:30pm in the KB Lobby at Grace Covenant Church (4600 Brookfield Corporate Drive, Chantilly, VA 20151)

PICK-UP: August 16th at 2pm in Grace Covenant Church's Main Lobby with baptisms held thereafter (4600 Brookfield Corporate Drive, Chantilly, VA 20151).

"What are the sleeping arrangements?"

Students of the same gender and grade will sleep in RVR cabins (mostly bunkbed style). 1-3 adult leaders of the same gender are placed in each of the cabins to host our students, lead devos/discussions, and direct the students throughout our retreat. (ex. 7th grade small group leaders stay in the 7th grade cabins).

"How many adults will attend?"

We will have a ratio of 1 adult leader to every 8 students.  We value discipleship at Grace Covenant Church, so our adult leaders not only chaperone, but also build relationships with the students, minister to them, pray with them, love them the way Christ would, and help them have fun at camp.

"With campgrounds being so big, I'm worried my student will end up walking around by themselves, I don't want them to get lost."

Neither do we. One of our 'Camp Rules' is that no student is allowed to walk around by themselves. We go over this rule, and a few others, in detail during our opening night.

"Food arrangements?"

Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner is provided for our students as a part of the Registration Fee for Camp Collide.  If your student has severe food allergies, please indicate them in the registration form.

"How can I reach my child during the weekend?"

Your student will be allowed to have their cell phones at all times during camp, however we encourage them to fully engage in sessions, and camp activities throughout the retreat.

"Should they pack snacks?"

We will provide 3 full meals a day for your student. RVR also has a camp store that sells snacks and drinks that are available for purchase to students throughout camp.

"Do you have packing recommendations?"

The packing list will be sent to parents along with your registration confirmation email!

Please feel free to email lft@gracecov.org with any further questions/ inquiries.
