Chef Gracy Cooking Camp: Advanced (Grades 7-12)

Description

We will explore the fundamentals of food preparation and recipe development using math, science, and language arts. We will cook . . . we will mix . . . and best of all we will TASTE!

Each camp will run Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. There are will be optional readings and activities while we are not in session. All designed to assist our campers to dig deeper into the skills they will learn.

Parts of the camp involve cooking with tools, heat, etc. Therefore, parent/adult/caregiver involvement is necessary and required. Parents must determine the appropriate amount of supervision and assistance that your child needs.

“Basics” Camps offer measuring skills, recipe lessons, some technique, kitchen safety, and healthy lifestyle discussions. “Advanced” Camps offer recipe development, advanced techniques, and additional skill development.

Our camps for grades 4-6 assume full parent/adult caregiver participation. Our camps for grades 7-12 assume a mix of parent/adult participation and close supervision. For campers in high school, the amount and level of supervision depends upon the experience, abilities, and maturity of your camper.

Once your registration is processed, you’ll receive an email with a link to the agenda, recipes, and the Zoom classroom. We strongly encourage live participation for maximum benefit (and fun!).
