This summer Earth Matter NY is piloting a new youth program, “Compost Critters Club" with the goal of engaging toddlers and their caregivers in Earth stewardship. This program will nurture lifelong habits in composting, gardening and seasonal eating.

Program Objectives

• To learn by doing; student driven lessons and activities
• Make green spaces accessible to children and caregivers from disenfranchised communities
• Foster lifelong habits in composting gardening and seasonal eating
• Encourage community building and friendships via cooperative learning in the garden

Curriculum topics will include:

• composting and decomposers
• planting, harvesting and preparing foods
• caring for farm animals such as chickens and goats
• soil science
