Concert for Ukraine

Description

Fermata Ensemble is thrilled to present a charity concert of choral and piano music featuring the works of Brahms, Debussy, Elgar, Stanford, Saint-Saëns, Mendelssohn, Palestrina, Haydn and more. Two intermezzi by Brahms from Opus 117 will be performed by young pianist Amy Auerbakh.

Proceeds will go to the Canada-Ukraine Foundation for the purpose of providing humanitarian relief to Ukraine. As more than half of us are Russian speakers, we are deeply appalled by the situation.

Thornhill-based Fermata ensemble consists of two vocal quartets, mixed and women only. Most of us are soloists or choral leads belonging to several Toronto choirs. Our repertoire is eclectic, sacred and secular, spanning different periods of music history. Fermata ensemble has participated in events before, but this is the first time we are putting on our own concert. We find great joy in music-making and are looking forward to sharing it with our audience.

Masks: While masks are not required, for the safety of everyone attending our concert, we strongly encourage you to wear a mask.
