Cowboy Cosplay - Music on the Porch at Barrow Mansion

Description

Cowboy Cosplay is a special collaboration featuring members of the Jersey City punk and rock community from the bands Desir Decir, Disaster Party and Uncle Jay. They’ll be playing country jukebox hits from Hank Williams on down to modern artists like Charlie Crockett, with long stops at the Outlaw Country of Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and more.

John Feuerbach hails from Desir Decir, a Jersey City rock and roll band that has toured the US and been playing locally since 2013. He also records solo with a modern take on plains-state folk music.

Uncle Jay may be the hardest working person in the Jersey City music scene, working at multiple venues and with multiple bands. His original music is equally indebted to 70s album rock and that era’s cache of pop-folk singer songwriters.

Disaster Party either began as a group of ne’er-do-wells in Edinburgh, Scotland, or as a solo acoustic act heavily influenced by outlaw country, filtered through an acoustic-punk lens that roughly coincided with a catastrophic boat accident. They regularly cross the double-yellow line between country and punk.

The performance will also mark the release of Disaster Party’s country western single “I’m Finished Drinking Whiskey (In The Morning) to mark the occasion.
