Daughter: An Evening with Laura Dill

Description

You know the cycle of life. Death is a natural part of that cycle. But what would you do if you learned that both of your parents had a year to live? This is the tragic news that author Laura Dill received in 2019. A rare, incurable form of brain cancer was about to change her world.

Laura Dill faced this unfair reality with a myriad of emotions. She offers an honest glimpse into her seemingly impossible journey in her debut novel, Daughter: Embracing the Difficult Journey of Caring for a Dying Parent Without Falling Apart. Laura is a thoughtful and compassionate guide who ushers readers through the winding and often unforgiving roads of diagnosis, caregiving and self-care.

Join Laura and the team at Slay Society for an evening at the Brookstreet Hotel. Laura will read from her book and sign copies. We welcome you to take pictures in front of the media wall/photobooth, enjoy signature drinks, get your Slay swag, and sample delicious sweets. Your ticket gets you a raffle ticket for an incredible prize pack that will be drawn at the end of the event.

Together, we will slay dragons.

All proceeds benefit Slay Society - Slay Society was created in February 2020 to support families dealing with the diagnosis of a glioblastoma, a cancer of the brain that is known to be the most destructive cancer in humans.
