On 8/28/22 a gunman took the lives of 3 Detroiters, one of which, a mother of 5 children in a senseless unprovoked act of terror during the hours while our team of food reviewers were visiting the city from Miami in support of Black owned restaurants. Our amazing Detroit social media followers in-boxed us that this carnage was occurring simultaneously with our coverage. We were devastated to learn that innocent Detroiters were snuffed out with little national attention, and even more hurtful, 5 children are now without their mother. She was shot while waiting on a bus stop on her way to improve the lives of her kids. We couldn’t sit in Miami, FL while our Detroit family mourns, so we are coming back to host this community day and fundraiser where ALL proceeds will be provided to the victims’ families with a stronger focus on the 5 babies left without their mother.
