Downtown Evanston transforms itself into an incredible showcase of all types of original art when the Evanston Art & Big Fork Fest opens for a three day show on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 19, 20 and 21. Located on Sherman and Church Streets, in the heart of one of the North Shore’s magnificent lakefront communities, more than 150 juried artists from around the country will show and sell their art including paintings, jewelry, mixed media, photography, sculpture, ceramics, one-of-a-kind furniture, home accessories and more! Live music on three stages, great food, drinks, and tasty treats from local restaurants, and a variety of kids’ activities, create a fun and festive family-friendly event. Artist booth chats and artisan demonstrations add to the experience. Admission is free and there is plenty of parking. The show is wheelchair and stroller accessible. Attendees are invited to bring their gently used wall art to the festival where it will be donated to the Chicago Furniture Bank, a local nonprofit that distributes furnishings and art to those leaving shelters and moving into permanent housing. Several artists from this show are participating in Amdur Productions’ Green Ribbon Project. Artists place a green ribbon on a piece of art in their booth, and if the piece is sold, 10% of the sale will be donated to Amdur’s 2022 charitable partner, Make-A-Wish Illinois.
