Evening Hike of The Spinc with Conor O'Keeffe

Description

The Spinc trail is amazing by day but it takes on an entirely different form as the sun starts to set. The trail is awash with wildlife. Everything from Stags to Goats! Yes Goats! The monks that settled in the valley in the 6th century brought goats with them. At some point the goats either escaped or were released into the wild and that is why we have wild mountain goats in Glendalough today. Let's hope we see some!

Other than the wildlife the valley is a wonderful viewing point of the surrounding Wicklow Mountains and is a sensational spot to watch the sunset. We will have a tough climb at the start of the hike which we will be rewarded for once we make our way to the ridge of the valley to take in the beauty that is Glendalough.
