Family Nature Photography: Feliz Paseos Park

Description

Join The Stewart L. Udall Parks in Focus program and Pima County Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation for a Saturday morning of fun, exploration, and nature photography!

Geared toward families with youth ages 6 to 18, this program will include basic photography lessons, time to explore Feliz Paseos Park with a Pima County naturalist, and the opportunity to receive your digital photos by email after the event. No experience necessary.

Cameras are provided for use during the program.

Note to Adult Participants: Please plan to remain with your child(ren) during the entire program. We encourage you to engage in exploration of nature and art alongside your kids. It will make the day twice as fun!

About Parks in Focus:

Parks in Focus® connects youth from to nature through photography, environmental education, and creative expression. Through partnerships with parks and youth-serving organizations, Parks in Focus®

  • Provides outdoor experiences for youth who have limited exposure to nature;
  • Increases participants’ appreciation for their local environment and public lands;
  • Encourages participants to use photography as a tool for environmental learning and as an outlet for creative expression; and
  • Engages participants in service and stewardship.

Our program is free to participants and provides important “firsts” such as camping or visiting a national park or wildlife refuge for the first time. Photography lessons, field trips, and camping excursions build skills, enhance self-esteem, and promote creativity.
