Forensic Science Explorer Program: Virtual Info Session

o Saturday, March 26, 2022 – 3-4 p.m.

The Houston Forensic Science Center (HFSC) Explorer program introduces students to forensic science and some of the disciplines that fall under that umbrella. Each monthly class will involve a short lecture and hands-on activity presented by real-life analysts and examiners from HFSC’s various divisions. The program will culminate with a mock crime scene where the students will put everything they learned into practice by collecting and testing evidence.

The Explorer program is open to high school students that are interested in the field of forensic science as a career. Students will receive hands-on experience in various scenarios that will help expose them to the different forensic disciplines our lab practices and support their ability to develop valuable skills.

Please note that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are preparing activities and presentations that can be done both virtually and in-person to best facilitate the program based to accommodate constant changes that accompany the pandemic.

This program will be held every second Saturday of the month August 2022 – March 2023 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

If the program occurs in-person, it will be held at HFSC's Downtown Houston training facility called the Lt. Barry McDermott Crime Scene House located at: 1620 Crockett Street, Houston, TX, 77007.
