With substantial media coverage on the brutal shootings of unarmed black men and youth, absentee fathers, and constant and consistent negative, yet inaccurate portrayals- it is often forgotten that black men are emotional beings and need space to heal from trauma. Who gives black men permission to reveal, reflect and heal? Who gives black men permission to be vulnerable? Do we honor their humanity?

Salvation explores emotional acceptance and safe spaces, Fatherhood, masculinity, and everything in between through the lenses of a self-proclaimed Daddy’s Girl, Jakayla Monay.

Black women and their hair extends beyond a bond; it symbolizes a multitude.

Kolby Delce, son of a beautician, spent countless hours in salons. Early on, he knew that the extended trailer that housed his mother’s first salon was a safe haven where women could share their innermost secrets, vent about life all while refreshing their crown and regaining their self-confidence. Shear Elegance is a photographic ode to Black women and their hair.
