HAZARDOUS MATERIALS INCIDENT COMMAND

Description

The Hazardous Materials Incident Command course is a 16 hour course which is designed to train persons who respond to hazardous materials/weapons of mass destruction (WMD) incidents for the purpose of implementing or supporting actions to protect nearby persons, the environment, or property from the effects of a hazardous material release and will function as a Hazardous Materials Incident Commander within the Incident Management System (IMS) or within a Unified Command. This course is designed to give the company officer a more thorough understanding implementing the incident management system & emergency response plans, a state & federal regional response plan, decontamination procedures, hazards associated with employees working in chemical protective clothing, analyzing a hazardous materials incident, setting objectives, identifying potential action options, evaluation of the planned response, documentation, & final termination requirements
