Helping Students Deal with Stress

Description

This professional development session helps educators learn how they can impact student stress through understanding and identifying stressors, strengthening their relationships with students, and skill building.

The session will cover:

  • The impact of stressors on body and brain of youth
  • The power of emotional contagion
  • Identify the three responses of stress
  • How to talk to your students about stress
  • Self-regulation strategies for youth to learn to identify and manage their stress

As an added bonus, you will receive access to a google doc with more tools to develop your every day practices and active skill building for SEL.

Your workshop facilitator, Jennifer Rogers, PhD, LPC, will provide you with relevant research in the field combined with practical applications to develop strategies that work for YOU. You will learn strategies to add to your toolbox when working with children and adolescents to start the school year off. The tools can be adapted to be used in distance learning, hybrid, or face-to-face educational environments.
