High School Success Workshop

Math, English, Science, Social Studies are all subjects taught in school. But has your child ever been taught how to study well? This course is a roadmap to success for every student, whether a rising 9th grader preparing to succeed in a fast-paced high school environment, the student who struggles to turn in assignments on time, use a planner, or study effectively for a test, or any student who wants to study smarter, not harder! Academic success IS achievable for every student, and this program is a fantastic starting place.

Our three-day intensive workshop gives students the time, space, and specialized instruction to truly discover their own personal learning style and goals. At the same time, students will work with their peers and practice tried and true study methods that will help them to start the school year strong!

In this workshop, students can expect to discover:

- Unique Learning Styles and How to Study Based on Your Style

- Diagnostic Tests to Determine Your Learning Style

- Study Skills Fundamentals

- Organization and Planning Skills

- Information Gathering Techniques - (including Active Listening, Reading, and Note-Taking)

- How to Study for A Test - (including Graphic Organizers, Memorization, and Other Studying Techniques)

- Test Taking Skills and Eliminating Test Anxiety

- Pain-Free Essay Writing Tips - (including for Writing Timed Essays and Research Papers)

- Digital Organization- (the key for succeeding in remote learning situations)

Through vibrant activities, games, and interaction with other students in a fun environment, your high schooler can get the tools they need to succeed this school year!

Wednesday, August 31st: 10am - 2:30 pm

Thursday, September 1st: 10am - 2:30 pm

Friday, September 2nd: 10am -2:30 pm
