HubChats - DanceVisions 2021-2022

Description

The panel will be moderated by the Performance Garage’s own Program and Marketing Manager, Norma Porter, where she will provide questions about the research and creation process of their DanceVisions project, Walk The (pink) Elephant.

Walk The (pink) Elephant is an evening-length exploration of absence and a ritual of reckoning, regeneration, defiance, and celebration in the face of cataclysmic loss. Additional topics to be discussed include, but are not limited to: relationship building through the art process, art as activism, as well as others informed by the theme and message of the (pink) Elephant work.

Dance/performance artist yaTande Whitney V. Hunter and theatre/movement artist Jude Sandy have named their creative entity Denizen Arts which represents their creative partnership and projects. Walk The (pink) Elephant is a multidisciplinary collaborative performance project informed by cultural and art-making practices of African diaspora, queer and other global identities. Denizen Arts seeks to create new works and foster communal discourse on both historic and urgent complexities of human experience.
