The Jewish story of the City of London - from penniless immigrants to the Jewish Lord Mayors of London

In another walk we look at London’s Whitechapel district which was the first stop for the Jewish immigrants where they lived and worked in difficult circumstances.

In this visit we’ll look at the financial heart and wealthiest part of London and it’s Jewish history from 1066 onwards.

We’ll visit St Paul’s Cathedral, see the site of a medieval Mikve, look at where a Jewish doctor was put on trial and sentenced to be hanged, drawn and quartered. Included will be the amazing London Guildhall, Churches named after the Ghetto, the site of the Great Synagogue, Disraeli’s old office, the house of the Lord Mayor of London where the Jewish mayors have lived. We’ll also the see the Bank of England, the Royal Exchange and the Mansion House and discuss the Jewish history.

No trip to London would be complete without looking at the amazing Rothschild Bank and seeing the world famous Bevis Marks synagogue – which is the establishment synagogue for London.
