Sponsored by Citizens’ Climate Lobby, the screening of “Kiss the Ground” is an inspiring and groundbreaking film that reveals a viable solution to our climate crisis. It reveals that, by regenerating the world’s soils, we can completely and rapidly stabilize Earth’s climate, restore lost ecosystems, and create abundant food supplies. While most of us are not farmers, there are still actions we can take to protect and restore the planet’s soil and combat climate change. The film is narrated by and features Woody Harrelson.
While “Kiss the Ground” offers one good opportunity to remove carbon from our atmosphere, Citizens’ Climate Lobby, a volunteer, grassroots, nonpartisan, nonprofit organization is working diligently towards another compelling climate solution – carbon pricing. There are other ways to reduce the Earth’s carbon footprint as well – there is no one silver bullet. CCL's Mountain West Regional Coordinator, Bill Barron, is in town as part of the CCL AZ Valley Earth Action Week and we will briefly share what CCL is doing and how anyone can participate in taking meaningful action to address climate issues.
There will be opportunity for questions and answers about the film, climate change and global warming issues, carbon pricing, and Citizens’ Climate Lobby after the screening. We welcome any and all community members to join us to learn more about our warming world and to see this compelling documentary which demonstrates one way the world can remain livable for us all.
