In this workshop you will make a custom leather keychain. We start off with an introduction to our FabLab, the laser cutter and handtools. Together we go over the keychain options and choose a leather color. Next, we will design your personalized keychain and learn how to prepare digital drawings for cutting and engraving. After a few seconds in the laser cutter, the crafting will continue by hand. Sewing, gluing, cutting, beveling... Different choices in metal accessories and colours are available to complete your design. Finally, we finish every piece by sealing the edges and weather proofing your unique keychain.

This workshop takes between 2 to 3 hours depending on the group.

- No prior experience is needed.

- Closed-toed shoes are required.

- Wear clothing that can be dirty by charred leather.

- Hands will get dirty (gloves will be available).

- If you would like a logo engraved, bring a vectorized file.

Is there an age limit to enter the event?

The minimum age for participants is 13 years old with a participating guardian or 18 otherwise.

On both sides of E 5th Ave. there are free and pay parking spots available, as well as free parking spots on Scotia St.

What happens if I show up late?

Please arrive 15 minutes before the scheduled start of the class so that we can start on time. Attendees arriving more than 5 minutes late will not be allowed to join the class.
