Leather Painting Workshop: Learn the Art of Marquage!

Description

This virtual workshop aims to seed purposeful living values through specialised PWD training by imparting life and art skills to aid in social integration, independence, and resilience for individuals with special needs.

Trainees will be able to pick up the skill of Marquage Art - a form of designing and painting on items such as leather products, footwear, and personal effects to customise them.

The art of Marquage comes with an element of sustainability as well. Through the process of customising and personalising an old item, it is given a new lease of life, encouraging individuals to continue using things instead of throwing them away because the item is old or they are bored of it.

Trainees can expect:

  • Guided learning with our instructors.
  • A safe space where they will be able to learn and also make friends.
  • To explore various marquage painting techniques and mediums.
  • To build up cognitive and fine motor skills through hands-on learning.
  • To progress towards social integration and independence through gaining useful soft skills and craft art skills.

Upon learning this new skill, trainees will be able to offer commissioned Marquage art designs, gaining a new channel of income and a form of financial independence that is very valuable and important for persons with special needs.
