Maintaining Discipline in a Bull Market with Augustin Sayer

Description

Join Newfund Capital Partner Augustin Sayer as he explains the ins and outs of raising seed funding in a bull market.

In 2021 startup funding broke records. With all that money floating around, it can be easy to lose your head, but according to venture capitalist Augustin Sayer, a bull market is the wrong time to lose your discipline.

Sayer is a partner at Newfund Capital, a transatlantic VC fund with offices in Paris and San Francisco that specializes in seed-stage funding. At a Founders Network webinar on Jan. 22, 2022, Sayer will explain the ins and outs raising seed funds in a bull market.

As a former entrepreneur turned VC, Sayer says there’s a reason funds prefer to invest with second time entrepreneurs. The webinar is designed to help founders avoid first-time entrepreneur mistakes and learn how to effectively talk to VCs.

“There is a science to talking to venture capitalists and adapting your speech to the VC you have across from you,” Sayer says. “All VCs are different and they don’t want to hear the same things.

Sayer will also cover:

  • How the bull market affects different stages of funding
  • Whether startups should increase seed funding during a bull market
  • What traps entrepreneurs should be aware of during bull markets
  • What founders should know about VC scouts in the current market
