Inviting all Greater Cobb area residents and Owens for Georgia volunteers and supporters- Join special guests, elected officials, and members of the community as we gather to defend democracy, protect voting rights, and learn more about Democratic candidate for Secretary of State, Dr. Michael Owens! This will be a family fun event (kids are invited)! Come grab some food, a yard sign and enjoy yourself.
Michael is a Marine Corps Veteran, a globally renowned cybersecurity expert, and former chairman of the Cobb County Democratic Party. He's dedicated his life to fighting for our freedoms and protecting individuals and businesses from cybersecurity attacks. His leadership within the Cobb Democratic Party helped expand voting access to over 480,000 people and his work with candidates such as Stacey Abrams, Jon Ossoff and Lucy McBath has helped move Georgia to a better place. But there is still more work to be done.
Now, Michael's running for Secretary of State to ensure that every eligible voter in the state of Georgia can have their voice heard while securing our critical elections systems from foreign and domestic attackers. You will also be excited to hear about other plans he has to transform the office to help small business owners, entrepreneurs, and veterans.

Michael Owens is a cybersecurity executive, senior-level global business leader, and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience within military, corporate, and government organizations.
Michael's professional focus is on cybersecurity & risk management, cyber policy, emerging technology, and national security. Dr. Owens is the founder and president of the U.S. Global Center of Cyber Policy, a nonprofit organization with a focused mission to provide federal, state, and local governments with key information related to cybersecurity, cybercrime, and cyberwarfare trends, strategies, and policies on a domestic and international level. In 2018 after the largest cybersecurity breach ever, Michael was recruited to help lead the recovery efforts at Equifax where he is currently a Business Information Security Officer.
He serves as a Partner with Washington, DC-based Truman National Security Project. Michael also serves on the Georgia Advisory Committee of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition and is a proud alumnus of Leadership Georgia, and Leadership Cobb. Michael is a United States Marine Corps veteran, trained in communications, engineering, and counterterrorism. His educational achievements include degrees and advanced certificates from North Carolina A&T State University, Georgia Institute of Technology, California Intercontinental University, United States War College, and Harvard University.
