Pianist Michael Whittaker leads a high energy night of jazz and fusion featuring Kirk Covington on drums, Adam Nitti on bass and Dominic Amato sax.

Originally from Los Angeles, Emmy nominated film composer and producer Michael Whittaker’s background in film scoring as well as modern record production have made him a go to composer for both the scoring and licensing worlds. Currently, Michael teaches and conducts a bi annual film scoring seminar in Nashville, TN (filmscoreseminar.com), and is the co-founder of Reel Whitty Werks Music licensing catalog.

Michael has scored over 300 television episodes and TV movies including the popular Power Rangers. After working 6 years as staff composer for FOX television and ABC family Michael has moved on to score and produce for companies like Disney, Warner Bros, NBC and Lions Gate Films. In 2011 his theme was chosen as the main theme of the new Disney Family Movies channel. His numerous awards include an Emmy nomination, a Telly award for his score to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, Bank of America Musical Achievement award, International Association of Jazz Educators player excellence award, and the Clarence Brown Memorial scholarship for jazz.

Michael’s experience in many styles has allowed him to work as the keyboardist and arranger for the Jimmy Kimmel Live television show, and writing and producing for major artists such as Lionel Richie, Paulina Rubio, Wayman Tisdale, 98 Degrees, Cake, Boyd Tinsley from the Dave Mathews Band, Brenda Russell, and many others. Michael has composed and licensed music for many notable shows, including CSI, America’s Next Top Model, Funniest Pets and Animals, A&E Toby Keith Documentary, Battleground Earth, Best Damn Sports, Biography of Tiger Woods, Dr. 90210, Gene Simmons Family, Modern Marvels, Access Hollywood, X Men Marvel Cartoon, The New Adams Family, The Power Rangers, The Ninja Turtles, Americas Most Wanted, and many more.

Born in Midland TX, Kirk Covington began playing drums at age 9, keys at age 16 and vocals since age 10. Kirk attended North Texas State University and played in the famed One O'clock Lab Band and began to form bonds with great musicians who went on to LA and New York. Kirk has played in such notable bands as Tribal Tech, Alan Holdsworth, Joe Zawinul Syndicate, Robben Ford, Scott Kinsey Group w/ Steve Tavaglioni, Scott Henderson Blues Band and now CPT Kirk with a new CD just released.

Nashville-based Adam Nitti balances his roles as a solo artist, sideman, and educator. He has filled the bass chair for Kenny Loggins, Carrie Underwood, Dave Weckl Band, Michael McDonald, Susan Tedeschi, Steven Curtis Chapman, Mike Stern, Brent Mason, Wayne Krantz, and Christopher Cross, while also releasing five solo CDs to date. As a Nashville session bassist he has played on multiple Grammy-winning and Grammy-nominated albums, and is also the founder of AdamNittiMusicEducation.com.

Currently serving as Musical Director for the Platinum Award winning international artist Sister Sledge, saxophonist Dominic Amato’s performance collaborations include Nile Rodgers, Sister Sledge, Kool & the Gang, Jamie Foxx, George Benson, Philip Bailey, Bootsy Collins, Modern Drummer Winner Keith Carlock, Dennis Chambers, Peter White, Eric Marienthal, Jeff Berlin, Joey De Francesco, Actor/Comedian - Dana Carvey, the late great Jazz Organist Jimmy Smith and many more. Dominic's 2011 radio single New Creation from his Illuminate record which he co-wrote and co-produced reached #2 on the Contemporary Jazz charts and remained in the Top 10 for seven consecutive months.
