Midwest Poetics: Workshop

Description

Midwest Poetics is an opportunity for artists to make space, celebrate and connect with the many voices that make the music and performance scenes that thrive in the Midwest. We want to give the mic to Black, and Indigenous vocalists, poets, writers, musicians and performers of color to celebrate their craft.

Midwest Poetics is a space for us all – where we will, both: workshop new material in a peer-to-peer setting. Quarterly workshops will lead up to a showcase where artists will be encouraged to share what they’ve workshopped.

This months workshop will be lead by Hip-hop Artists and Producers: LXNNY and Marcus Yates. They will be sharing about their individual practices as artists and producers! They've shared that participants of this workshop will be invited to contribute to the making of a live improvised song!

This years Midwest Poetics program is honored to be in collaboration and partnership with Kansas City’s: One Mic Stand KC.
