Mindful Knitting Workshop Series

Description

Why mindfulness?

Put simply, mindfulness is the practice of being present. Many of us find it difficult to be present amid stress, discomfort, and endless distractions. A mindfulness practice can help us realign mind with body and deepen our self-awareness and self-compassion, alleviating unnecessary distress.

Why knitting?

Knitting involves repetitive micro-movements, which elicit a sense of stillness in the mind while calming our nervous system. As a result, we enter a meditative state that brings forth the restorative elements of relaxation, contentment, and compassionate awareness.

"Properly practiced, knitting soothes the troubled spirit, and it doesn't hurt the untroubled spirit either." ~ Elizabeth Zimmermann
