Mindfulness in Motion: Knitting

Description

Note: This event is being postponed until 2022. We appreciate your understanding.

Gather ‘round (virtually) as we collectively learn and unlearn through the art of knitting. We are excited to partner with Elyse Sundita (she/her/they/them) who will be facilitating this workshop.

During this workshop, Elyse will guide participants through the basics of knitting. All supplies are provided and all experiences are welcome. Participants will be encouraged to tap into the somatic sensory experience of learning a new skill and releasing energy through repetitive movement. We will weave through our memory networks and examine how our past shows up in the present. This workshop will challenge our relationships to perfection and permanence.

All materials needed will be provided prior to the event. Supplies can be picked up from Starlight Knitting Society (7028 SE 52nd Ave, Portland, OR 97206) starting December 4th during store hours (Su: 12-5, M-Sa: 10-6). Local delivery available upon request.

Registration for this event is required. Tickets can be purchased on a sliding scale from $10 - $20. Scholarship tickets are available; please email us at ourstrulypdx@gmail.com to request a scholarship ticket. A video conference link will be provided to guests after registration.
