MLK 2022 Virtual Social Justice & Re-entry Forum

Description

Did you know the United States leads the world in incarceration, with over 2.4 million people behind bars, despite making up 5 percent of the world population?

And did you know that more than 60 percent of the people in prison are people of color?

Each year, more than 600,000 individuals are released from state and federal prisons. More than two-thirds of prisoners are rearrested within 3 years of their release and half are reincarcerated. When reentry fails, the costs are high — more crime, more victims, and more pressure on already-strained state and municipal budgets.

Join the Change is Possible Tour and the City of Dallas for a virtual forum to learn from ex-offenders, judges, and restorative justice advocates about race and equity in our justice system, including the challenges of successful reintegration.
