National Assistance Card - Information Session

Description

The National Assistance Card is a personalised Card designed to assist people with disability and health conditions in the community to communicate their unique areas of difficulty and the assistance they may need. The Card can help cardholders to feel more confident in everyday social situations.

Not only does the card support an individual to communicate in the way and manner they want, but an added QR code functionality has been built into the National Assistance Card. The QR code gives the cardholder an opportunity to create and link additional information about themselves to the Card in both video and/or written format.

The National Assistance Card is available to all people in Australia living with brain injury.*

In Tasmania the Card is being trialed with the autistic community, and people with other disabilities and health conditions.

  • family members and carers of people with brain injury or autism
  • disability organisations who support individuals with brain injury and/or autism
