Neighborhood Bike Ride - Arlington - Medford - Somerville

Description

Join the Association of Bicycle and Pedestrian Professionals (APBP) Boston Chapter for a fun and educational bike ride Friday June 3rd. We'll meet at Thorndike Field just north of Alewife at the Bluebikes station at 3pm. Ride departs by 315pm. We will stop at Dugger Park in Medford, and end at Aeronaught Brewerey in Somerville.

This ride is intended to showcase projects and routes that connect across communities and major destinations on residential, low-volume streets. Our route was planned to maximize our time on higher comfort streets as much as possible, and minimize riding on major roads. These types of streets are also known as bicycle boulevards, neighborhood greenways, and neighborways. We'll get to discuss and imagine the possibilities for placemaking and safety opportunities, feature upcoming projects, and offer recommendations to communities in planning future infrastructure.

Looking forward to riding with you, and if you can't make the ride be sure to join us for social hour and some delicious drinks and tasty bites at Aeronaut in Somerville around 5pm!
