Never Good Enough: How To Break Up With Self Improvement

Description

Healing and self-improvement have become so popular.

It feels like constant self improvement is mandatory. If you're not following ten therapists on IG, while riding your Peloton, drinking a green juice, and texting your therapist...what are you even doing!?

You are not a constant self-improvement project and you may be treating yourself like one if you...

  • are always on the lookout for something to fix or improve
  • are constantly buying new self-help books that don't actually help (or not even finishing them...)
  • are consistently dieting, trying new workout regimens, and looking to improve yourself physically
  • engage in healing practices because they're "cool," not because you actually like them
  • feel like there's something wrong with you
  • try a million different things with little to no improvement

This doesn’t mean you should fire your therapist, stop a much needed medication, or quit exercising.

There are a lot of health and wellness practices that we need to live, feel better, and lead productive/enjoyable lives.

But, sometimes the pursuit of health and wellness never ends and you get trapped in the cycle.

I have gotten dangerously close to this during certain parts of my life. I wanted the feeling to go away so bad that I was just focused on fixing and healing and learning.

Now, I’m able to float in and out of therapy. Read a self-help book when I feel like it and put it down when I don’t. I can actually enjoy life, experience my emotions, and recognize when there’s real shit I need to work on.

It wasn’t always like this.

So, ask yourself,

  • Are you working on something and is it actually improving your life?
  • Do you always feel like something is wrong with you?
  • Can you take breaks to enjoy your labor?

Or are you just constantly being sold the lie that there’s another thing to fix?

This webinar with Whitney Goodman, LMFT will teach you how to use self-care and self-improvement in a sustainable, fulfilling way. You will learn:
