NextGen DNA Sequencing Weekly Free Q&A

Description

We are initiating a weekly Q&A to support existing customers, new prospects and the public to support NGS sequencing applications. This is your opportunity to connect with the UST scientific and technical support teams. Explore and ask questions about your specific application or general question about Universal Sequencing Technology. Discover everything UST has to offer!

Whether a question on theoretical applications, proven real-world use-cases, procedural or just a general question - come discover everything UST has to offer!

RSVP to receive invites to our free weekly Q&A.

About Us

Universal Sequencing Technology Corporation (UST, www.universalsequencing.com), is a US based innovative DNA sequencing technology firm. We developed a transposase based TELL-Seq linked read library prep kit technology, enabling Illumina sequencing platforms to produce super long-range results (average 40kb, up to 200kb or longer). It is simple, fast and cost effective. A sequencing ready WGS library can be prepared in a single PCR tube in only 3 hours without any special instrument.

With UST TELL-Seq library kit and an Illumina sequencer, you can now do de novo sequencing (microbial, metagenomics, animals/plants/insects/marine life, etc.), whole genome phasing, and structure variation detection as well as phased whole exome and targeted sequencing. A remarkable advantage of UST TELL-Seq is that it requires ultra low DNA input, only 3-5ng for human genome and 0.1-0.5ng for bacteria and target gene panels.

With co-marketing and co-development relationship with Illumina signed last year, the TELL-Seq technology is a valuable tool to your microbial research, and it is commercially available now.

SPEAKERS

Dr. Tom Chen

Tom Chen, Cofounder and CSO of Universal Sequencing Technology Corporation, has over 20 years of R&D experience on next generation sequencing platforms and applications, invented and developed 454 paired end sequencing, SOLiD and Ion Torrent mate paired sequencing, Ion Shear DNA fragmentation, Ion Torrent bi-directional sequencing, isothermal clonal amplification, and Universal Sequencing TELL-Seq linked read library technology, etc. Prior to Universal Sequencing, Tom was Principal Scientist and Senior Manager at Life Technologies/Thermo Fisher, Staff Scientist at 454/Roche, and Postdoctoral Scientist at Schering-Plough Research Institute. Tom received his PhD in Biology from McGill University and MSc & BSc in Molecular Biology from Nankai University.

Dr. Andrew Anfora

Andrew Anfora, PhD has over a decade of commercial experience supporting genomics technologies at organizations such as Illumina, Roche and BioNano Genomics. Prior to joining UST he supported NGS reference materials for clinical LDTs at LGC Clinical Diagnostics. Dr. Anfora earned his PhD in the Microbiology Doctoral Training Program at the University of Wisconsin studying E. coli genetics and physiology in the laboratory of Dr. Rodney Welch and was a postdoc at the Genomics Institute of the Novartis Research Foundation.
