Nick Mullen live in Chicago

Description

Like every other stand up comedian, Nick Mullen lives in New York and has a podcast. It’s called Cum Town. The podcast, I mean, not New York - Cum Town is the name of the podcast. Maybe they also call New York that, I don’t know. Bad name, right? Imagine you’re having dinner with your girlfriend’s family and it’s going well and then they ask you what you do for a living. Oh, you know, I work in showbusiness. You say something like that, try to move on. It doesn’t work. Shoulda just said consulting. Oh, really! What do you do in showbusiness? They slowly suck the details out of you like they’re lancing a boil. I’m sorry, they say, what’s the podcast called, Corn Dome? You clarify. Then there’s the silence. An infinite moment. Nothing but the grating frequencies of silverware. Makes you feel like they designed forks and knives to sound like that so you know there’s nothing left to say; it’s really the cutlery that asks for the divorce. You’re in your mid thirties. The feeling isn’t shame or humiliation. It’s almost like a disembodied regret - this is all happening sometime in the future - you’re on your deathbed remembering this, thinking, maybe I could have worked with animals or collected stamps? You look over and try to tell someone but the hospital is empty. It’s just you and your consequences now, always has been.

So why not come see the live show that makes you feel like that?
