The originator of Jyorei, Mokichi Okada, known as Meishusama, began to practice Jyorei in Tokyo, Japan in 1934.

He brought it to the world as a way to enhance people’s health by purifying spiritual and physical impurities, which he viewed as the cause of various forms of suffering. Many people throughout the world are practicing Jyorei and are experiencing remarkable benefits from it.
