Paint the Parks at Hobbs State Park

Description

Heart of America Artists Association will kickoff their latest project, Painting the Arkansas Parks at Hobbs State Park with a plein air painting event March 24 - 26. Artists will paint anywhere in the park and the public is invited to come watch as they create. On Saturday, March 26, artists will present their best pieces for exhibit and sale open to the public from 4:00pm - 5:00pm. Over $1,500 in cash and merchandise awards will be announced at 4:15pm.

Hobbs is the largest state park in Arkansas, spanning a 12,054-acre tract of Ozark landscape along the southern shore of Beaver Lake in Northwest Arkansas. It will be the perfect place for artists to spread out and fish for some beautiful landscapes. The public is invited to bring friends and family to see the artists at work.

The first part of this two-year project will include a series of plein air (outdoor painting) events in the five major geographical regions of the State of Arkansas to honor the state parks. It all finishes with a glorious traveling exhibition throughout the state of Arkansas. For that final exhibition, artists will be exhibiting a larger artwork along with the smaller étude (study) that inspired it, created during their participation in one of the state park events. HOAAA is very excited that these events will be in coordination with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.

Artists must register by March 10, 2022 to participate. To register, or for more information go to www.heartofamericaartists.com
