Piccalilli Gallery Fundraiser

Description

We kick off our year with a fundraising exhibition of affordable artworks, which are donated by the artists. 100% of the sales will go towards supporting the years programmed artists with production costs and fees across the year. In a sense, the gallery will be supported by artists!

All works will be for sale across the Wednesday and Sunday, priced between £30-350 (there are some absolute bargains!). With over 60 artists, all participants will be announced soon.

Due to the intimate natures of the space and Licensing restrictions, we require all who wish to attend to book a timed slot, either on Wednesday evening or Sunday daytime. We recommend to those keen on a bargain to book as early a slot as possible. Works will be sold on a first come first served basis.

Refreshments and a limited bar menu will be available from the Bar upstairs at 161 Food + Drink

Piccalilli is an artist-led initiative, supporting underrepresented artists by providing them with a supported framework to develop their practices with ambition and experimentation at the fore. Cultivating a supportive environment and concept collaboration, piccalilli aims to bridge a dialogue between artists, audiences, community and place.

Unlike the sister project (IKO), Piccalilli is a permanent space in the basement of wine bar 161 food+drink in Sydenham, South London. Following a similar ethos, the space and programme are centred around the engagement of commissioned artworks, within a specific environment which acknowledges the architecture rather than ignore. Invited artists are supported to research, develop and realise projects over a dedicated period of time.

We are excited to welcome you to the new gallery space!
