  3. Ms. Arzoo Kazmi, Journalist

About Discussion:

Afghanistan and Pakistan have emerged as unsavoury joint ventures comprising several arms and narcotics traffickers, insurgent groups, Islamist entities and organized crime syndicates.

Mass braves of Taliban fighters in Quetta, Pakistan. Taliban are freely roaming in the city of Quetta where the civilians are imposed many restrictions. The Madrasa like in Kandhari Bazar are jam-packed with the people being preached to donate heavily to the Taliban and participate in Jihad.

Pakistan was placed on FATF grey list in June 2018 and was urged to strengthen anti-money laundering and increase the fight against financing terror yet every year IMF approves bailout loans of Billions of dollars for Pakistan.

Seventeen out of 33 Parliamentarians in the Taliban government are UN-designated terrorists. The present interior minister Sirajuddin Haqqani was involved in Indian Embassy in Kabul bombing and has control over much of the country's internal security forces. As deputy leader of the Taliban, he oversaw armed combat against American and coalition forces, reportedly from a base within North Waziristan District in Pakistan. Haqqani is currently wanted by the FBI for questioning, with the U.S. State Department offering a reward of $10 million for information about his location that will lead to his arrest. Yet, US engaged with these fighters in Doha, helped them get more powers and indirectly posed a more immediate threat to the neighboring countries, especially India.
