Description

Class is on FRIDAYS @ 1PM EST

About This Class

Herbalism, or traditional plant medicine, has had a resurgence in popular culture in the last 50 years as more and more people search for alternatives to conventional, allopathic therapies, and the advent of the internet has made so much information accessible, but not necessarily the means of how to best choose how to effectively integrate herbs into your daily life. Many of us use herbs as food every day without realizing the medicinal potential they hold!

Throughout history, plants were recognized for their value, whether as medicine, food, or in commerce. Humans were once so well-versed in the world of plants, that many historical books on botanical medicine did not even have drawings or featured more artistic drawings rather than true-to-life renderings of different species because everyone knew what the common species in their region by sight.

It is time to get back in touch with this knowledge and study various healing traditions to garner an appreciation for the teachings of those that came before us.

Join us as we explore the many types of herbs, terminology, preparation methodology, energetics, plant spirit medicine, different types of herbal therapies, and traditions.

It’s time that you take a look at your spice cabinet differently, and recognize both the benefits and contraindications of many of these popular herbs and how to best pair them with the right individuals.

You will learn about the history of herbal medicine traditions, phytochemistry of different species, interactions with physiology, energetics, and contraindications, as well as how to prepare herbal preparations and how best to use them.
