SocietyX : Pain to Purpose Poetry Class

Description

Class is on the First SATURDAY of the month @ 6 PM EST

About This Class

Poetry is medicine. The process of turning your pain into art is the process of creating your own medicine.

When you finally find words for what remains unspoken within you, you'll find yourself feeling more emotionally free, self-aware, and ready to dive even deeper into your dreams, hopes, and journey of self-discovery.

Join award-winning author, poet, and spoken word artist, Vironika Wilde, for a deep dive into the medicinal power of poetry.

No previous experience with poetry is required. Bring your broken heart, your notebook/laptop, and your curiosity.

What You Will Need

Laptop, notebook, or phone with notes app.

What You Will Learn

  • How unsaid and unheard words impact your mental health
  • Where to start when you feel something you have no words to describe
  • The healing power of combining specifics and honesty with abstraction and metaphor

About Vironika Wilde

Vironika Wilde is a poet, activist, spoken word artist, life coach, immigrant, tree hugger, and cat fanatic.

Those who have read her poetry books, Love and Gaslight and the blood in her honey, call her raw, honest, and willing to spill tough truths about trauma, society, and the human condition.

As a nomadic stage poet, she's performed in many cities, including Toronto, Vancouver, Honolulu, Portland, Sydney, and Melbourne. Her debut spoken word album, Too Much For You, was released in 2020 on all streaming platforms.

When Vironika isn't writing, she loves getting lost, looking at the stars, dancing, and eating pickles (sometimes, all at once). You're welcome to visit her website and follow her on Instagram.
