Solar, Wind, and Water Power STEAM Workshops at Lock 20

Description

Join STEAM author and educator Kathy Ceceri for free workshops every Tuesday morning throughout the summer. We'll be meeting at the pavilion at Lock 20 of the Erie Canal in Marcy, NY. It's just west of Utica, about 90 minutes from the Capital Region.

Different projects each week, with workshops for both older elementary school aged kids and teens. Each outdoor workshop looks at the history and the science behind renewable energy sources and features one take-home project.

Each workshop is separate. You can sign up for just one, or for more than one within the child's age range. The same classes will repeat several times throughout the summer, so families have a choice of days and times.

Workshop schedule:

    • Waterwheel (ages 7-11) -- July 14, July 28
    • Windsock (ages 7-11) -- Aug 1
    • Wind Turbine (ages 9-14) -- Aug 15
